Toyota, the wealthiest company in the automobile industry, is reportedly about to roll out a new hot hybrid crossover. Reports claim that the new model will look like the C-HR concept in terms of style, design, and overall approach. The CH-R was first introduced to the world last year at the Paris Motor Show, and caught everybody’s eye with a futuristic and very cool design. Today, when the market is overcrowded with all kinds of SUV crossovers, Toyota’s decision to make its latest model stand out with a sharp and somewhat bold design is more than justified. After all, the looks are arguably the first thing that makes people want to buy a new car. So, what is the Toyota’s latest hot crossover gonna look like?
The Golden Middle
In terms of size, this new compact Toyota crossover will fit in just between the RAV4 and the Highlander. It’s known to be built on Toyota’s NGA (New Global Architecture), a modular platform that’s gonna be incorporated into half of the company’s brands made by 2020. I’m talking about Camry, Corolla, Tacoma, and probably most of the SUVs. By the way, this new fancy platform is believed to be first introduced in the fourth generation of the Prius, providing more interior space and better MPG thanks to lighter weight.
Aiming For The Worldwide Market
The main question right now is whether this hot new hybrid crossover would arrive on the North American land, or if it will be exclusive to the markets overseas. First of all, it needs to be approved for production, of course, but, my guess is it would – the buzz around web is pretty intense for the company to miss out on.
It is known that in the UK the Nissan Qashqai model is doing exceptionally well in sales, and some sources claim that Toyota is planning to get a big piece of that pie with the introduction of the new crossover SUV. Some rumors state it will be labeled Toyota Auris Cross, which will automatically make it a crossover edition of the Auris hatchback. Here in the US we’re not familiar with that name – we know it as Scion iM.
A New Approach To Styling
Right know we don’t really know much about Toyota’s plans of distribution, but still, regardless of whether the CH-R concept will make it to the States or not, the launch of this model (along with the new aggressive look of the 2016 Prius) could very well mean the beginning of a frisky and defiant styling for Toyota. The Japanese are known for taking a rather conservative approach in styling and design, but, as of late, the company is surprising the industry with lots of creative ideas.
So, that’s about everything the media knows about this new Toyota hybrid crossover SUV. It obviously looks hot and a little bit futuristic, but that’s a big step forward and a serious claim for the throne. Can you imagine yourself driving the CH-R concept? Do you think it’s gonna blow?
