As we all know, Toyota, the Japanese automobile manufacturer, has a big influence on the industry. Whenever a new model comes out, it becomes a huge hit, and all the other companies try to mimic that success; sometimes they manage to do that, sometimes, they don’t. That’s a fact: for almost a century, Toyota has been bringing some serious heat to the automobile world, and, since its major arrival into the United States market, its grip became ever mightier. Let’s talk statistics: Camry is the best-selling sedan in America, Tacoma is the most popular Mid-Size-Truck, and the Prius hybrid is the most recognizable car in the country. Now, Corolla is no different – with over 40 million (!) sales, this go-getter is just getting started. So, bottom line is, Toyota Corolla 2017 is a very welcome guest in the industry. People have been speculating about the new edition for quite some time now, and there used to be this mystery fog around it – nobody really knew when it was gonna come out, or even what it could look like. Naturally, there were constant leaks, some unconfirmed information, some rumors – the usual stuff.
A Long Time Coming
As mentioned above, the Corolla is one of the greatest ones to ever hit the American markets, so, hence the buzz around the upcoming release. Thankfully, Toyota decided to introduce the brand-new edition at the recent New-York Show 2016, and it turned out to be quite different from what I and many experts predicted it to be. So, yeah, today we’ll talk about the new Toyota Corolla 2017 and try to figure out its place on the ever-growing market, because let’s face it: it’s been a while since we saw a proper redesign and the competition is stronger than ever. There was a lot of talk around town that it was decided to turn the new compact sedan into a luxury vehicle, meaning an improved interior that will have a sport car touch to it. Well, that came out to be true – the new Corolla is up-to-date on the inside, at the very least. The infotainment system is now available with a 7-inch display and the audio system is beefed up as well. The level of comfort – naturally – has been improved to keep up with the latest trends. On the technological front Toyota decided to play it cool and only introduce a couple of the latest features to, again, stay relevant. Remember – they gotta keep that price low, too.
Toyota Corolla 2017 – Ready For Another Round
You’ve got a new dash board to enjoy, along with a cool navigation system, satellite radio and automatic climate control. A backup camera now comes standard and you can pack your new Corolla with Toyota’s Safety Sense-P suite that adds forward collision warning, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control. In other words Toyota Corolla 2017 is finally ready to come out and play. So, expect it to hit the dealerships hard, ladies and gentlemen! Now, there’s one thing that I had to clear out with y’all first: if you, by chance, are not really felling the whole new aggressive design-styling that Toyota’s rocking with the latest Prius, then you’ll be disappointed with what the team behind the new Corolla did with the new edition. Aha, one of the biggest names in the industry, the 50-year old compact sedan is finally ready for that mid-cycle refresh that turns it into a sporty yet family-friendly car. If you ask me, that’s pretty dope, and I like what they did with the Prius – it looks awesome. There’s something futuristic, bold about both new models, and that means the Japanese are ready for new, risky things.
What About The Powertrain? Same Old?
Corolla has always been one of the best when it comes to reliability and that classic driving, and the 2017 edition is no different. On the other hand, we’ve got a brand-new front grille that’s kinda scary. Around back it’s the same old Corolla, with the taillights being a bit more in your face. As for the powertrain, there was some hope that the Japanese mogul would introduce an all-new system, but the reality is a bit different. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting anything crazy, but a turbocharged engine would be nice, wouldn’t it? So, under the hood you’ll find the same old 1.8-lit 4-cylinder that can be paired to either a 6-speed manual transmission, a 4-speed automatic or a CVT (continuously variable transmission). Fuel consumption-wise, I’d say we’ll get about 25 to 35 miles per gallon of combined driving. As for the horses, expect the new Toyota Corolla 2017 to be good for 132HP and 140HP with Toyota’s Valvematic system.
Toyota Corolla 2017 – Building Up On The Legend
At the end of the day, it won’t be able to compete with the sporty cars, but that’s not even what Toyota’s after with the 2017 edition. No, it’s the same old Corolla that people came to love and respect – it’s just gonna be a little better – prettier, comfier, and safer. And, in case of Corolla, that’s more than enough to make one hell of a compelling offer for the customers. By the way, there’s also the Toyota Corolla 50th Anniversary Special Edition, celebration the 5 decades of hard work and dedication on the American market. It’s based on the SE edition but comes with alloy wheels, a fancy new stitching for the interior, that 7-inch touchscreen and unique floor mats with the anniversary theme on them. Only 8K units will be made for the US market. Both the original and the 50th edition will hit the shelves later this fall and you’ll have a choice between 4 colors: red, blue, white and silver. That’s like really close, guys, so, pull out your wallets and get ready to spend your bucks. Unfortunately, there’s no official information on the price-tag, but my guess is they’ll try to keep it civil and offer the entry-level Toyota Corolla 2017 for 18-19K. Alright, that’s it for now, folks!
