Let’s be honest – The Toyota Camry brand hasn’t been a vehicle of choice for the elite. It looks, and feels good, but, over the last couple of years, it earned itself a reputation of the best friend for middle-class suburban men, women, and their children. Actually, this is a pretty big win for the company, because the “Regular Joes” are huge contributors to Toyota’s impressive year end results – for almost 15 years Toyota Camry has been the best-selling car in the United States. The “family” angle really works out. But, despite the fact, the Japanese innovators want more. And so, the Toyota Camry 2016 is their latest achievement, and the main goal with it is to earn more “street credit”, if you may, and get more and more customers. As always, this new 2016 version is based on the previous model’s solid structure. What you can expect is some cosmetic enhancements, as well as an addition of the latest technological achievements.
Specs – Exterior And Interior
Not a lot of Toyota fans know, but the Toyota Camry 2016 is, in general, just a remodeling and repolishing job. The original Camry was first launched back in 1982. As almost 35 years ago, today, the Toyota Camry is a classic sedan with four doors, two rows of seats, and it can take in up to four people. Also, much like in the old days, you can sneak in between the two passengers in the back, and be the fifth. As we mentioned before, the Camry is the biggest success of the Japanese mogul in the middle class sector, so, everything about it is marked with an “affordable” tag. And that’s its biggest win to this day. The car stays true to its roots, therefore, it’s well respected.
Ok, so, for color, you got two choices – Blue Streak Metallic, or Blizzard Pearl, and either way, the exterior finish looks pretty good. Next, as a reminder, that this is, actually, Toyota Camry 2016, and not, say, 82, the engineers made new lights, shaped the exterior a bit, and, finally, added some safety precautions. Also, the wheels went to 18 inches, and have that stylish look now.
If you’re lucky enough to buy the 2016 Edition, you’ll be very pleased. The interior feels kinda “royal”, with great seats and a really good combination of black and blue on the dash board. Also, you got that cool keyless access and start with a simple button push – that’s kinda like a trademark for the Toyota sedan series. Among other impressive techy things – wireless charging for gadgets, an enhanced audio system, and a live-traffic update feature.
The Heart Of The Camry
The engine is another great new thing about the Toyota Camry 2016. Customers get better, high quality efficiency. It’s a 2.5-liter, four cylinder engine, which can give you up to 178 HP, which is a step up from the 2015 model of Camry (see my BIG review here). The transmission is an automatic six-speed, and it’s a Front Wheel drive. For a middle-priced sedan, that’s more than enough for an enjoyable drive around the city, or the suburbs.
How Much For The New Model of Toyota Camry 2016?
Up to this date, no official information about the price has been shared. Experts in the marked predict it to be around 25000$ – pretty much like it was for the 2015 version. Toyota Camry 2016 is expected to hit the market in the third/fourth quarter of – you guessed it – 2016. And we are ready to name it the new best-seller in advance.
