What’s the most important thing in the world? The family is if you ask me. And what’s the most important thing for a family? Safety, of course. That’s the number one priority. And one of the safest vehicles out there is a sedan. The majority of American families drive sedans, and that’s a pretty big part of the automobile family. The biggest, according to statistics. So they’re great, that’s not even a topic of discussion. Besides being safety-certified, sedans are also strong on reliability, fuel-efficiency, affordability, spaciousness, and comfort. In this article, I try to compare two great of them: Toyota Camry 2015 vs Honda Accord 2015.
If you’re a fan of the industry and like to keep up with the historical events, then you know, that Toyota’s Camry has been the top-selling family sedan in the market for as long as I (or anybody else) can remember. And partially what helps Toyota to hold the leadership is the strategy of constant improvements on the already amazing concept. To be the best one in your league is a tremendously hard task, but, as time shows, Camry manages to stay on top with a smile on her face.
The Champ’s Biggest Rival
However, over the years, the Japanese princess has acquired a lot of big-bad competitors, including Hyundai’s Sonata, Kia’s Optima, the Ford Fusion, Nissan Altima, and, of course, Honda Accord. Honda’s sedan is probably Camry’s biggest rival on the market, so, that’s why we’re gonna have a Toyota Camry 2015 vs Honda Accord 2015 comparison today. These days people tend to divide into two “camps” – those who praise Toyota’s brand, and those who prefer Honda’s. One definite thing that they have in common is fair play. They’ve built their reputations with quality, ease of use, commitment to customers, and style. Day after day, year after year Camry and Accord rival each other for the title of the best-selling vehicle in the US of A.
Toyota Camry 2015 vs Honda Accord 2015 – A Question Of Taste
Funny fact: Both Toyota and Honda are Japanese companies, and, as Toyota happened to be the first, the government was not very happy with Honda’s decision to enter the big market, because they thought it would be bad to have several Japanese companies rivaling on a worldwide scale – I mean Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, and Nissan. But, as it turned out, it all panned out, and all of the aforementioned giants are very prosperous these days, despite the disapproval from the administration.
Now, the truth is, there’s no definite telling which one’s better. No matter how much you try, it always comes down to subjective objectiveness. I mean, people are different – they’ve got different tastes and different desires. And that’s the beauty of it – healthy competition is what keeps the industry evolving, and the common folks are on the winning side: there’s a lot of fish in the sea, so, major companies in the automobile world try their best to win over the customers, offering better fuel-efficiency, more interior space, brand-new techy features, huge discounts, etc.
To be honest, I can’t really tell you who’s the winner in the Toyota Camry 2015 vs Honda Accord 2015 rivalry. What I can do is give you cold-hard facts that will hopefully help you make the decision by yourself. So, on that note, let’s roll!
Cold Details And Hard Facts
A quick note: As for 2014, the Accord had some advantage over the Camry, because of the new developments and features. This year, Toyota finally came through with a head-to-toe upgrade for the Camry, and so, the tide is turning – this time around Camry could very well be the winner. And, unlike some older redesigns of Camry, when we had only some new colors and a few features, the 2015 Toyota Camry is a very big step forward compared to the previous editions – it’s almost like a brand-new car. So, make no mistakes about it – Toyota is going big this year.
The first thing that’s obviously different is styling, and it’s very…stylish! Yep, Camry has a modern sporty look, which is very popular among the fans, according to numerous praising all over the Internet. Furthermore, I can say with confidence that the new, edgy exterior puts Camry one step ahead of the Accord – it actually looks better, and that’s a pretty big claim. By the way, the first thing that people look at when trying to pick the best car is the appearance; thus, that’s Toyota’s first win in the Toyota Camry 2015 vs Honda Accord 2015 competition – the looks.
Toyota Camry 2015 vs Honda Accord 2015 – The War Inside
Even though Camry’s interior is pretty much the same as before, Toyota introduced some much-needed coolness, if you will. In XSE trim level we’ve got amazing materials with some interesting styling, which make the Accord blush a little bit, to be blunt. It’s not a huge advantage, as you could imagine, but, it’s in the little things, right? Plus, all of the Camry’s knobs and buttons are well placed, user-friendly, and very fun to touch. The center buttons are pretty big, and right in your face (that’s a good thing). Little, but important new touches, like a holder for your phone and sliding armrest add to the picture.
As a matter of fact, Toyota decided to not develop new drivetrain this year, and so, they’ve invested the entire budget saved into the so-called “Customer Appeal”. The 2015 Camry’s ergonomics is truly beautiful. And I’m not saying that the Accord is a complete failure in terms of comfort and ease of use, but, to find the setting needed, you’re gonna have to go through a lot of menu screens, and that takes time, which you don’t really want to spend on meaningless scrolling. On the other hand, Honda Accord has better build quality, meaning everything in the interior seems better to fit together, especially the door panels.
