It’s safe to say that the rap game hasn’t been the same since Toronto’s own, Drake, took it by storm. He’s young (29 years old), ambitious, knows how to rap, knows how to sing and combines his two strong sides to make one of the best muscial anthems of the 2010-2016 period. With over five million albums sold worldwide and about 50 million singles, this man knows what it’s like to be rich – stupid rich, I believe they call it. By the most modest estimates Drizzy has around 75 million US dollars, and that kind of money opens all kinds of doors for him, and not only in the hometown of Canada. And despite the recent break in the Young Money/Cash Money label, Drake is still on top and dominated the Billboard 100 list with his recent work – the “If you’re reading this it’s too late” mixtape. A mixtape, folks! Most artists can’t do the same with heavily-promoted albums, but Drizzle (another one of his nicknames) made it happen with a tape. And, with his new project coming April this year, Views From The 6, you can call him the 100-million-dollar-man. The 100 milli dude. Ok, so today we’re all gathered here to talk about the man’s garage, the most expensive cars owned by Drake, the artist and the producer (he’s currently managing The Weeknd and a couple of other highly successful R’n’B artists from Canada that made it big in the US as well).
Drake, Drizzy, Drizzle, Toronto’s Own – A Fan Of Luxury Cars
Now, one thing that catches my attention when I’m browsing through Drizzy’s car collection (virtually, of course), is the absence of sports cars, and they are the go-to for the majority of black stars, both in hip-hop and in big sports (even though he’s kinda Jewish). No, he’s all about that luxury, you know, those royal-class vehicles in the name of Bentley, Rolls-Royce and such. Can’t blame a guy who revolutionized a whole musical genre by his single self for wanting to roll around in comfort, style and swagga, no can you? Alright, so, what’s Toronto’s pride and joy driving these days? Can you guess? I personally went through all his social media sources and picked my personal luxury cars that Drake has been spotted in. Hey, I bet you want to know what it feels like to be in the shoes of a man who’s not even 30 yet but already has enough to buy your whole block and then some, don’t you? Well, if you do, join me in checking out the most expensive cars owned by Drake!
#1 – The Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible
It’s inevitable: every time we start talking about REAL luxury we always find ourselves discussing a Bentley car, doesn’t even matter which one. The Brits sure do know how to make them classy and premium, and if you wanna drive a supreme car with the top down, you gotta go with the Continental GT Speed Convertible. I’m guessing whenever Drake wants to cruise down a mighty highway with that “Work” blazing through his speakers he’s hopping behind the wheel of this bad boy. And the ride is going to be zingy, believe me: Bentley is known for packing its cars with that heavy artillery and the GT Convertible comes with a 6.0-lit V12 engine that’s good for 616 Horsepower, give or take. With that kind of power under the hood this car can fly to the moon and back, if you want it to: the luxury roof-off can go as fast as 200 miles per hour, and with the top down I believe the wind is gonna blow in your face like crazy (in a good way). So, how much does it cost to feel like the most popular artist from friendly Canada (sorry, Bieber fans!) – 20K, 30K? No, sir, the price is 300K! That’s three hundred thousand American dollars, which makes the Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible one of the most expensive cars owned by Drake.
#2 – The Bentley Mulsanne
True, you can’t call the man original, but he certainly does know how to pick them. The second Bentley in Drizzle’s garage is actually the most expensive model from this luxury brand and it’s best suited for arriving at all kinds of big-time events, like the Grammys, the AMAs and the BET awards. The Continental is the best pick for riding solo, but if you’re after true luxury, the Mulsanne is the king. This specific Bentley will cost you more than 300K and it’s kinda low on the powertrain – 505HP – but it was never meant for being a drag-race champ, my friends. You don’t buy the Mulsanne to own a fast car, you buy it to go up the social ladder, to be recognized. Besides, if you want to sit back (or lean back) in that rear seat with a glass of champagne in your hand and tell the driver to go to the nearest nightclub, this is it. It’s also a pretty good investment for that hard-earned rap money, as a Bentley car will always be in demand, no matter how much mileage you have on it. And with Drake’s name on the plate I believe this Muslanne might just be the most expensive one in the whole line-up. Ok, this was the second and the last Bentley in the list – I promise.
The Most Expensive Cars Owned By Drake – #3, The Bugatti Veyron
French kissing? No. A French pie? No. The Eifel tower? No, God damn it, a French car, the Bugatti Veyron! There’s an old saying that claims you’re not really rich until you drive a Veyron…actually, no, scratch that, I made it up :). Still, if you wanna have a platinum status in the rap game and be respected by the big boys in the industry, this European beauty just has to be in your garage. So, even if Drake doesn’t really like that French attitude (which I’m finding really hard to believe), driving one of the most expensive cars in the world (it costs more than a million) and one of the fastest sprinters is a clear symbol of the man’s success. How fast is the car exactly? Light-speed fast, ladies and gentlemen, 250 miles per hour fast! However, this baby is pretty expensive to keep around as it’s a fuel-a-holic and goes for 8 miles only on a full gallon! So, if he wants to do “donuts in the six speed”, he gotta make sure those international gigs pay up, otherwise he’s running the risk of ending up somewhere in the desert or in the blizzard with his gasoline running out. Nevertheless, the Bugatti Veyron is one of the most expensive cars owned by Drake, and that’s what counts.
#4 – The Lamborghini Gallardo
If a Bentley is the second step into becoming a true “I Made It” person in hip-hop, and the Bugatti Veyron is turning you into a boss (not like Rick Ross, though – he’s all about Maybachs), the Gallardo is like the entry-level car. You know, it’s still luxury, but not even enough to call yourself a chart-topper. Therefore, it’s not nearly as expensive as the other cars in Drake’s list. However, it’s the only one that he could enjoy on a race-track, without all the paparazzi following his around. The truth is, almost no man out there who owns a Lamborghini Gallardo has the time or the passion to rent out a track and burn some quality tires on it. But I still hope that Drizzy Drake, the biggest star in contemporary rap will find the time in his super-busy schedule and blow some steam off somewhere in California or Miami. If not, well, his garage will still look good with this Lambo being parked there like a paralyzed person. At the end of the day, this car is not nearly as pricey as the Bugatti, not as fast, not as good-looking. So, why is he still driving it? Well, because it’s entry-level luxury, guys, I told you this already! Now, he also owns a Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe customized by Brabus and a Maybach 62S (worth 400K), but even they are not the most noticeable cars in the list. The Phantom is.
The Most Expensive Cars Owned By Drake – The Rolls-Royce Phantom
I know a lot of rappers who, well, rap about this one like it’s the God of cars or something. And in a way, it is. It doesn’t get any more luxurious than Rolls-Royce, and the Phantom is the king among the brand’s line-up. Get it now? With all those fancy cars at his disposal I’m guessing Drake is having a pretty hard time picking his ride early in the morning. But, given the Phantom’s legendary status, I believe he’s being chauffeured in this one a lot – Maybach and Bentley are only trying to get on the same level as the “Ghost Ride”. To be honest, I don’t even know what else to tell y’all. Whatever I say is going to make you even more envious of the man! On the other side, maybe you’re an up and coming artist who’s inspired by Drizzle’s success and this article will give you the necessary kick to put yourself out there and become the next big star in the game? In any case, the Phantom is most definitely one of the most expensive cars owned by Drake and quite a few people can afford it. Ok, I’m signing out and wishing you a safe ride home and a bright sky over your heads. See ya!
