Admit it: you wanna live in the future. We all do! And partially that’s because we want to test-drive first-hand the most awesome concept cars that aren’t even out yet. Truth be told, with the current line-up of beauties, the market of concepts has never been so rich with talent. And even though most of us Regular Folks can’t cover even the tiniest bit of the ridiculous price-tags these horses come with, we can still admire from afar, appreciating the bold designs and the exquisite tastes. Alright, so, without further ado, let’s get right to it – the dopest concept cars from the future. Disclaimer: any of the following models may or may not make it to production – it’s too early to tell for now – but that’s not really what’s important. The most important thing is they look pretty f***ing sleek and dope!
Lamborghini URUS – The First Ever SUV From Lambo
Yep, you heard it right: Lamborghini, arguably the most famous manufacturer of luxurious sport cars, is finally ready to roll out their first real-world SUV. How about that, huh? I have to say it looks really great and I bet it will be a king on those highways and tight city corners. Expect it to arrive with the complete list of all the latest technological features and safety equipment along with a mighty strong powertrain, a sporty suspension/chassis and luxury-level material quality on the inside. The URUS is a pretty big deal for the company, so I’m crossing my fingers and wishing the engineers best of luck. At the end of the day, it’s a real treat for all you SUV fans out there, and, since the company officially confirmed that the vehicle is actually in production and will hit the market in late 2017, I guess it’s time to pop the champagne, isn’t it? Yes it is!
Everybody knows that when it comes to gorgeous super cars and conceptual vehicles the Germans are the kings. Mercedes-Benz has been in the business of luxurious automobiles for a while now and the 300SL is definitely one of the most beautiful models out there. By the way, it first saw the light of day more that 5 decades ago – in 1954 – and, since then, it’s been a dream car for a couple of generations worldwide. After being 58 years on the pedestal, the SL still has what it takes to take your (and my) breath away. Word is the Germans are preparing the model for a big buzzy come-back, so, expect the industry to get a doze of adrenaline when that happens. No official info on the release date (or even if it’s real or not), but, mark my words, it’s coming, and it’s coming fast.
BMW X MPower
BMW is the second biggest name in German automobile production and one of the most respected brands in the world when it comes to “royal” models. The MPower concept comes with the same twin turbocharged 5.0i V8 engine that’s under the hood of the X6, but in terms of design it’s a whole another story. The new model is a sexy 2-seater with a special kind of love for the wild and free. Thanks to the elegant sporty style with an aggressive, futuristic grill up front and a “spaceship-like” rear end, you’ll be the life of the party in any part of the world, even if you’re somewhere in the Siberian suburbs or the Dominican jungles. For now it’s just a concept and there’s not telling whether the BMW X MPower will hit the world-wide markets or not. But one thing is certain: it’s one hell of a ride!
The Super Hatchback Concept Cars
As far as futuristic and out-of-this-world concept cars go, this one’s right there at the top. The SHC (Super Hatchback Concept) looks jaw-dropping and is all about that cutting-edge technology, edgy design and mighty powertrain: it comes with a choice between three engines and sport car-like features, including a luxury-level interior, all the latest techy features and then some. Furthermore, the SHC is packed with lateral orientation, a sequential twin turbocharger system with overboost, a fancy stop-start technology, direct injection in the engine, hybrid-like regenerative braking, a six-speed short-shift manual gearbox…alright, stop me, I’m getting too technical here. Basically, what you need to know about this beast is that it’s designed by Jamie Martin, the same dude responsible for the Cobra Venom V8 and the famous London Navigator bus. Yep, now you know what to expect.
Taihoo 2046 Concept Cars
Alright, this one is not even from this world. I mean, can you imagine driving a car like that in those muddy and grimy New-York or Chicago streets? I definitely don’t! However, it looks quite intriguing, and even if it doesn’t make it to serial production (and I’m almost 100% sure it won’t), it’s still a piece of art. Designed by Hao Huang, the Taihoo Car comes with an interactive and super-flexible interior that can be transformed into a camping tent (yep, you heard me) and a wrap-around screen for you to enjoy. This one’s gonna be the favorite of rich and spoiled Chinese brats who just love to show off and have a good time. The design is something that the Martians would approve of and, even though there’s no info on the powertrain and fuel-efficiency, I bet both will be exceptional.
Ferrari is the absolute champ in the world of sport cars – it’s not even a discussion. The Millenio concept, in turn, is a futuristic super-car that introduces tons of promising developments and technological features that – hopefully – will give the industry a nice shake-up. It’s a 2-seater (like any true sport car) and has a super-strong body that’s sturdier than steel and lighter than carbon fiber. There’s not much info about this concept car except that it will feature two electric engines that recharge with solar panels and/or via inductive power transfer (don’t even ask me what that means). Now, simply because it’s a Ferrari model, and it’s designed by Marko Petrovic, I bet the Millenio will turn out to be something truly beautiful. If it makes it to the company’s line-up, that is. Oh, and before you start dreaming about this one, I gotta mention that the car has no doors, no roof, and the super-strong material is actually buckypaper which, even by the most optimistic predictions, will hit the market only in 50 or even 100 years. Yep, that’s what’s up.
Lamborghini Ferruccio Concept Cars
Alright, maybe Ferrari is not the ONLY champ of super-cars, because I forgot about Lamborghini. Lambo’s been around approximately as long as Ferraris and they are a mean bunch as well. Actually, when it comes to experimental models and bold designs Lamborghini is the place to try your luck at if you’re a young and talented designer/manufacturer. And that’s exactly what Mark Hostler did: he’s a student at Staffordshire University in England and he made this amazing concept car as a tribute to the company’s 50th anniversary. It’s known that the Ferruccio will feature a small twin-turbocharged 5.0-lit V12 engine with direct injection. I believe the phrase “Futuristic Concept” was invented for this exact model and I’m pretty excited to check this beauty out at some fancy Auto Show in the nearest future.
Alright, you had enough concept cars for one day? I know I did! To be honest, I’m not even sure that half of these babies will make it into the real world, but for now I say they’re one of the best futuristic models in the globe. Keep up with the latest on future developments, keep your head up and don’t forget to comment!
