Usually, if you’re an athlete who went from pretty much nothing to multi-million contracts and you love fast, shiny cars, you’d be quick to fill that empty garage with a line-up of the best models on the market. And while the majority of sports celebrities have expensive, but not-that-exquisite tastes (you’ve got your regular Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Bentleys), some do know their way around cars and go with something unique and eye-catching. Take the Mets left fielder, Mr. Yoenis Cespedes: despite the fact that he does love his Lambo fast and his Alfa Romeo sleek, that still doesn’t change the fact that he’s got a good taste in cars. As far as original celebrity rides go, this fella wins the golden medal. Now, he likes to brag, too, as he is constantly being spotted arriving at the training facility with a new car every day. But that’s not what we’re here to talk about, really. In this article I want y’all to take a look at the dopest cars in Yoenis Cespedes’s garage – the head-turners, the best of the best.
From Cuba To The United States To A Legend
Speaking of head-turners, the man himself is a king on the field: he’s got tons of strength and a killer arm and managed to climb to the pedestal of modern-day baseball. With 3 teams behind his back, he’s now with the New-York Mets, having signed a 75-million dollar contract just recently. So, with that kind of legit money on his bank account he can spend as much on his steel horses as he likes – there will still be plenty left. By the way, let me just say that life wasn’t always so sweet for the left fielder. Back in 2010, he ran away from hometown, Cuba, and ended up in the Dominican Republic, along with 10 family members. It goes without saying that they were poor folks and never owned a car. Then he came to America, The Land Of The Free and made the ground shake, if you know what I mean. Hard work and dedication are his strongest suits, and, as you’ll learn from the list of The Dopest Cars In Yoenis Cespedes’s Garage, the Mets champ picks his cars with that motto in mind.
#1 – The Ford F-250
Alright, let’s start with the most popular pick among celebrity athletes – the F-250 from the Detroit giant. It’s big, tough and aggressive, just the perfect mix. And Cespedes is one of those people who love to modify their cars and make them unique. He’s a constant guest at Alex Vega’s shop, the Florida-based Auto Firm. A few weeks back he arrived at the Mets camp in a customized F-250 and made some local buzz. The starting price-tag on the SuperCrew cab is less than 36K, but I’m sure the baseball star went for the ultimate trim – the Platinum, worth 57K MSRP. Besides, sources claim the Auto Firm pimped the truck for additional 30 grand, including third-party beefed-up wheels, a custom exhaust, a lift kit, a huge stereo, and more. Overall, the custom Ford F-250 is estimated to cost about 90K, but that’s nothing if you play for the New-York Mets. Check out the pick with Yoenis posing right next to his mighty beast – doesn’t it look like the ultimate monster? As far as the dopest cars in Yoenis Cespedes’s garage go, this truck is the tallest one – for sure.
#2 – The Jeep Wrangler
This is the second go-hard-or-go-home car in the baseball star’s garage – the customized Jeep Wrangler that the man himself says cost him around 80K. He was quite excited about it and called the SUV a spaceship, telling the New York Post it was his first Jeep ever. You’ve got an upgraded suspension, massive, big-boy wheels, a custom leather interior and more. The Wrangler looks off-road-ready and I would love to see Cespedes take it into the wild and maybe even camp out with his buddies. Unfortunately, he was never seen in the forest or the desert, so, I guess he likes to keep to himself. However, I don’t think all that mighty powertrain and the strong attitude will go to waste. So, before the preseason games start, this pimped out Jeep is going to be the hero of the tabloids, not the owner. Nevertheless, I wish the Mets baller a good year and will try to catch a game or two on TV (or YouTube). Who knows, maybe he’ll arrive at the first game in a brand-new modified ride?
The Dopest Cars In Yoenis Cespedes’s Garage – #3, The Lamborghini Aventador
This might sound like a joke to you, but pretty much every successful athlete and rapper in America has at least one Lambo car in his garage and the Aventador is the most frequent guest. I guess this brand means you’ve made it, and Cespedes’s custom blue-on-black model is the brightest spot in his car collection. Alex Vega, the man who’s responsible for all the customizations in the baseballer’s line-up, stripped the Lamborghini to the bone and painted it with an eye-catching custom black with metallic blue all over the place, giving it an awesome and head-turning look. The exhaust tip spits fire – quite literally – while the wheels are third-party, the interior is beefed up and there’s this fancy Audison sound system to blaze that workout music on your way to the camp. I gotta say that even the standard Aventador will get your blood rushing like crazy, but with these modifications Vega turned it into something unique. So, definitely one of the dopest cars in Yoenis Cespedes’s garage.
#4 – The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
Ok, this is that sports car/super car you’ve been waiting to see on the list, right? Well, there you go! This car shows the Mets player’s passion for awesome Italian brands and his exquisite taste. Alfa Romeo, the manufacturer, made some noise here in the United States back in 2008 when they brought 55 8C Competizione Coupés and dominated the market of luxury vehicles for a while. Now, given the fact that the 8C is considered by many experts to be the one of the most beautiful, gorgeous and distinctive cars of the 21st century, it’s understandable why Cespedes, a fan of customizing, barely touched it (only the rims are custom). That’s actually applaudable, because I don’t really think a lot of folks could resist the urge to get under the skin of the Alfa princess. By the way, the price-tag on this extremely rare model is around 250K, so, if you wanna be like Cespedes (or, at least, feel like him), you gotta be ready to let go of a quarter million, if not more. Fun fact: even though the 8C Competizione is super-precious, the baseball star loaned it to the Mets infielder, Wilmer Flores, for a whole month. Now that’s what I call team spirit, folks!
The Dopest Cars In Yoenis Cespedes’s Garage – The Polaris Slingshot
Yep, I saved the best for last, ladies and gentlemen: please welcome the Polaris Slingshot, Mr. Left Fielder’s most favorite vehicle (or should I say transport?) on planet Earth. He loves this 3-wheeled reverse trike like it was his first car, even though it’s not. On the paper the Slingshot is a motorcycle, however, the bucket seats, the steering wheel, the wide front track (not possible with a bike) and the 2.4-lit 4-cylinder (GM-sourced) tell us that it is actually a car. And quite a peculiar one, too. This piece of art weights only 1.7K pounds, and that allows it to go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 5 seconds and reach a max speed of 130MPH. Get this: Cespedes is so fond of this thing that he owns not one, but two of them! One’s in black and blue, the other one is in red and grey. Hey, if you thought that the Slingshot is worth millions or something, you couldn’t be more wrong: the starting price-tag on this one is 25-27K; but with the modifications/customization from the Auto Firm the final editions of the bikes-turned-cars cost the Mets star 70K apiece. And that’s it for the list of the dopest cars in Yoenis Cespedes’s Garage. Check back with me for the latest updates!
