Fun fact: you don’t even know how much time you spend with your car. We’re so used to them that we don’t pay attention to that anymore. Most of us nowadays are driving the same vehicle for 4 to 7 years!
So, it’s like your second home (or third, depending on whether you love your workplace or not), and that means you gotta make it feel like home, you know? Alright, how do we do that?
Pretty easily, actually! We’re not going to talk about fancy expensive stuff: just some things/rules that will help you keep your car organized, clean and comfy. Let’s take a look!
#1 – Keep Your Car Clean
This one is the most obvious – don’t let the interior of your car turn into a piggery: that won’t earn you any street credit, believe me. Nothing special here, just don’t forget to clean it up from time to time and you’ll be fine. If feels really great to drive a clean and tidy vehicle, makes you feel good about yourself.
#2 – Pack Tons Of Music
Back in the day radio was the king of road trips. Today we’ve got iPods, iPads, and a lot of other gadgets with an “I” serving us as music boxes. Besides, nobody really wants to listen to stupid ads and jingles anymore. By the way, if you’re in the market for a new car, ask the dealer to give you a discount for taking the radio out – it might work! Plus, with the Bluetooth technology taking over, nobody needs CDs anymore. It’s funny, ’cause about 10-15 years ago CDs were the next big thing, and cassettes were old. Hey, time flies, right? So, the bottom line is – take your favorite gadget with you and let the music blaze!
#3 – Good Breath = Happy Driver (And Passengers)
This one actually should’ve been #2, as it’s kinda part of the whole “keep it happy and clean” agenda. Ok, so, it goes like this – pack a small bag of mints and “eat” them from time to time. Or, you could go a bit further and buy lollipops or candies. They’re definitely pretty sweat, but watch out for those heavy calories 🙂 Besides all the sweetness, candy/mints will freshen your breath, so, that’s a win-win situation.
#4 – The King Of Coins
A good friend of mine told me about this amazing habit: take as much coins with you on the road as you can. They’ll come in handy at the next parking lot. Sometimes you simply can’t pay for parking with a credit card, and that can be super frustrating, especially if you’re in a hurry. So, become the king of coins and share the wisdom with your friends – there can’t be too many coins in the world!
#5 – Don’t Forget About The “Survival Kit”
A survival kit is a must – no question about it. Take it with your every time you hit the road. Pack the kit with simple things like a blanket, a towel, a bottle opener, maybe some food – stuff like that. Another must-have is the emergency kit, but I think you know about that already.
Ok, that’s my top-5 essential car stuff to always have around. It’s a pretty weird list, I know, but hey – you never know until you try it, right? Share your thoughts and tell us about your top-5 in the comments.
