Ready For 2016 – Top 5 Toyota Cars To Drive This Year
Today I tell you about Top 5 Toyota cars to drive this year. Right now Toyota is in its prime: the engineers and the marketing team are working hard as hell, trying to perfect their line-up for the already-awesome 2016. And even though sexy cars like the forthcoming Supra or the MR-2 are still on their way, you can’t deny that going with Toyota this year will be a very wise move. The manufacturers in the car industry are always doing something new: reinventing their own formulas, their own success, and, as we’re speaking about the biggest car producer in the world, that’s pretty awesome. Some might say that Toyota is only good for routine transport vehicles, with little to no attention to style and coolness – at least not as much as back in the day with Supra and MR-2.
Toyota Is Back To Cool Again?
And while that might be true to a certain extent, I gotta disagree with you. Sure, their famous sedans and hybrids are not drop-dead amazing, but the mighty trucks and some of the concept cars do make you wanna check them out. Thankfully, this year we’ll get a few interesting offers from the Japanese mogul, namely the upcoming Mirai and the brand-new Prius and Land-Cruiser. Tacoma and Tundra are always fun to watch, especially with the new developments promised. So, yeah, Toyota is still capable of making eye-catching models, even with their current plans of conquering the world with no-fun-at-all workhorses that can last half a century or so. Alright, without further ado let’s see the top 5 Toyota cars for 2016. If you’re in the market for something low-budget but cool to switch from your old piece of junk, these models will give you the best value for your wallet. Maybe even more.
Top 5 Toyota cars – Toyota Tacoma – The Best Mid-Size Truck On The Market
If you want to upgrade to a super-manly mid-size truck with class-leading reliability and durability, the all-new Top 5 Toyota cars such Tacoma is a pretty awesome offer. Redesigned both on the exterior and the interior and starting at just 23K Tacoma delivers equally amazing experience both in the deserts/forests and on the regular American roads. It’s rugged, aggressive, and dependable – this handsome pick-up will be your best friend in any corner of the Earth and it will never let you down. Never. And the latest edition will be the greatest one to date, because you’ve got new quality materials, super-cozy seats (and not only for a truck), as well as an upgraded 6-inch infotainment system – the robust and user-friendly Entune.
A Stronger Engine And Better Handling
Oh the highways the Tacoma feels controlled and steady, just like a prime truck should. Even on top speeds on the highway you’ll still have total control over the car. Suspension has been retuned, and the mighty V6 is still available with manual transmission – that’s great. Plus, the new Tacoma comes standard with a GoPro mount. I guess that means if you’re going for an adventure into the wild-wild west, you might as well document it all! Add in the Crawl Control (set a slow speed and focus on steering only) and you’ll get the perfect (and affordable) off-road beast that you can still drive in the city and enjoy the ride.
Top 5 Toyota cars – Toyota Tundra – The Biggest Rival To Ford And Chevy
If you’re after the biggest, the toughest and the most awesome Tundra on the market, go for the TRD-Pro that’s gonna be simply fantastic. However, the majority of customers are not really ready to pay for the additional features, so, they’ll be aiming at the regular editions, which are pretty damn good as well. In terms of design the new Tundra is almost identical to the previous editions (generations, even). True, it does have boxier corners and sharper lines here and there, but to the naked eye they’re all pretty much the same. Objectively, though, you only have a redesigned front grille for the SR5 and 1794 Edition, so, still, nothing new in general. But that’s Ok – nobody wants any big-time changes. What’s really great about the new Tundra is it’s super-safe and, surprisingly enough, tech-packed. Entune Audio now comes standard. On premium trims you’ll get navigation, Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, Blind-Spot Monitoring, and more high-tech stuff. And it’s got a bigger fuel tank. The new Tundra can be yours for 28,6K, but I’d recommend going for the upper trims – that’s where the real fun’s at.
Top 5 Toyota cars – Land Cruiser – Bringing Sexy Back
Back in the day the Cruiser was the greatest full-size SUV out there. But lately it’s been out of the game for a minute and folks even started calling it the soccer mom-friendly groceries hauler :). Good news is, Toyota has big plans of getting the once glorious model back on its feet. First of all, expect a brand-new sheet metal for the exterior, but that’s not even half of what’s promised in the new edition. You’ll get redesigned front grille and rear taillights and tons of amazing new features in the interior, including high-quality leather for the seats, a new steering wheel, the Entune 2.5 infotainment system with Slacker audio and a bunch of other cool stuff. A 9-inch high resolution display is available, including 10-inch screens for the back seats (that’s 2 screens for two folks to watch separate things). Furthermore, you’ve got an 8-speed automatic transmission, BSM, RCTA and a bunch of other safety equipment. Oh, and don’t forget the 5.7-lit V8 engine and a steep price-tag of 84K for the basic trim.
Top 5 Toyota cars – Toyota Prius – Going Into Uncharted Lands
If you ever owned a Prius, then you know its strong sides and its weak sides better than me. And while a hybrid is not necessarily everybody’s dream car, the latest Prius is about to change the game with a sporty design (sporty? Prius?!) The new gen was first introduced in Las-Vegas (check out my post), and it quickly became the talk of the town. I have to say that this is a huge (and scary) move for Toyota – redesigning the shape that’s been around for decades is no joke. Kudos to the team behind the new Prius for having the guts to go for it. The latest edition will be 10% more fuel-efficient and come with an updated powertrain: more powerful and with better handling, thanks to the wider stance and double-wishborne rear suspension. And even though official characteristics and pricing are not out yet, I’m more than confident that Toyota will revolutionize the market of hybrids once again.
Top 5 Toyota cars – Toyota Mirai – The Next Big Thing In The Industry
Obviously, this is the most unusual car from the bunch. But, right now we’re witnessing an increased interest in the hydrogen-powered systems, and so, Toyota – no surprise – is at the verge of something brand-new and exciting. Right now it’s only available in California; still, I’m sure that in the forthcoming years we’ll get more and more fuel stations for us all to enjoy. Check out my initial report on the Mirai – back then everybody thought it was just a concept, something that would probably never come to life. However, today we’ve got Toyota’s official confirmation that the Mirai is coming – time changes fast, doesn’t it? There’s not much to say about this futuristic vehicle right now because the technology behind it is pretty complicated. If you want, go ahead and see the official page with all the details and videos about Mirai and Top 5 Toyota cars. And even though the starting price is pretty steep – 57.5K MSRP – as far as experimental tech goes, there’s nothing more exciting than the Mirai in 2016.
