In 2016, Ford is set to dominate the industry with some serious heat – they’ve been cooking up for a while and are ready to introduce a couple of amazing cars for us all to enjoy. Today we’ll talk about the latest editions of 3 finest Ford 2016 models – two of the company’s most famous SUVS to date – Ford Explorer and Ford Escape – and a wildly popular American sedan – the Ford Fusion. This dynamic trio has been around for quite some time, and they are welcome guests in all kinds of sales charts and customer satisfaction lists. And even though information about the upcoming 2016 models is very well hidden from the public, sometimes – lucky for y’all – some official details do come my way and I’m always happy to share them with you. So, without further ado, let’s talk a bit about cars – Ford models 2016 in particular, and see what’s on the agenda.
2016 Ford Explorer
Ford Explorer is Ford’s biggest success in the SUV segment – it’s been a hit ever since the first release. And while other majors are fighting over the market, this stylish baby is still on top. Yep, the Explorer is the most popular three-row SUV here in the United States, so, one could think no further improvements are in order. However, the 2016 Ford Explorer is expected to introduce a lot of changes to keep the brand interesting and exciting.
It’s officially confirmed that for the 2016 model year the SUV has received numerous updates and changes – minor and major. So, the exterior will most definitely be redesigned – especially in the front and back. As for the interior, don’t expect anything too dramatic – only minor changes here and there, like better materials, a few extra technological options, as well some of the latest safety equipment. Of all the three Ford 2016 Models this one is probably the most feature-packed. So, this car deserves its position in our Ford Models 2016 list
The biggest change for the 2016 model will be, of course, the introduction of the EcoBoost 4-cyl engine. This 2.3-lit unit is a replacement for the old 2.0-lit engine, which was a total disaster back in 2011. The brand-new EcoBoost is good for 280HP and 310 pound-feet of torque – pretty solid for an SUV. Furthermore, the 2.3-lit goes equally great with both AWD and 4WD, and it’s got some towing might as well – up to 3K pounds. To tell you the truth, though, the Ford Explorer is a vehicle made for large families – always has been.
Therefore, it’s got a spacious interior that provides added comfort, and a trunk large enough to solve all problems that might occur with your huge luggage. Fuel-economy is also pretty great – one of the best on the market – so, again, best suited for a family. Gotta warn you: if you’re a young couple with no kids or fly solo, the 2016 Ford Explorer might actually lose its appeal to you. Nevertheless, it’s a solid choice for the target market, with a price tag of 32K; so, thumbs up for Ford.
2016 Ford Fusion
Fusion is Ford’s go to sedan – their pride and joy in the segment. It’s been through a complete redesign 3 years ago – that’s like two days ago for the industry, so, nobody’s been expecting any serious changes in 2016. And they were right not to – the latest Fusion has remained virtually unchanged. It’s actually a very smart marketing move – don’t fix anything that’s not broken, you know? The Fusion is a very decent sedan, with lots of strong suits, including a stylish design, great handling, high level of comfort and a very fuel-efficient engine. That has always been the case with this brand, and that’s what folks love it for – stability (the same goes for pretty much all Ford 2016 Models). So, essentially, if you own a previous model, you can easily skip this one and wait for the 2017 or even 2018 edition.
Ford Models 2016 – The Comfiest Ford Car In 2016
As for the powertrain, the 2016 Ford Fusion will be available in two versions, and both will be turbocharged. The first one is a highly economical 1.5-lit 4-cyl engine, and the second is a 2.0-lit EcoBoost turbo unit. Both engines run on AWD, which is a rare thing for a sedan this size. Interior-wise, the 2016 Ford Fusion is a beauty: you’ve got great materials, superb noise reduction, and an amazing dash board with a very user-friendly interface. It’s pretty feature-packed and offers adaptive cruise control, navigation, extended telephone tasks, automatic parking, automatic climate control, optional heating, and much more. By the way, you can get it for +/- 30K, if you decide to go with the SE trim level (that’s the best one in my opinion). Of all the Ford models 2016 the latest Fusion is definitely going to be a big hit – mark my words.
2016 Ford Escape
The last one in our list of Ford models 2016 is the new 2016 Ford Escape. This one was kind of a dark horse to me – I couldn’t really get the “hang” of what the company had in stores for us with the latest Escape. However, when Ford released the official details about it, all my concerns turned out to be groundless. Ford – one of the biggest automobile manufacturers in the world – has a very deep understanding of the local (American, that is) market and they constantly reshape and position each new model according to the “climate” in the industry.
Overall, the 2016 Ford Escape is almost an identical copy of the previous edition, but it’s still a class-leader when it comes to great handling, comfy interiors, and sporty looks. The direct competition – Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V – appeal to the customers with top-of-the-line fuel-efficiency, cargo space, and techy features. And that means that you gotta make your own choice and pick the car that will suit your personal needs and those of your family. And, if you decide to go with it, the 2016 Ford Escape is one of the finest Ford 2016 Models, ready to make your experience on the road that much more enjoyable. What do you think about Ford’s 2016 line-up? Got some personal favorites? Name them in the comments!
