Question: Who do you go to when you’ve got a super-fancy and super-expensive conceptual car that nobody in the middle-class (or even the higher class) can afford? The answer is simple – to the most fortunate of us. And that’s the celebrities, including the television, movie, music and sport stars. That’s why today we’ll see the list of Cars Owned By TV, Music & Sport Stars.
These people have tremendous sums of money that they don’t really know what to do with, and one of the greatest “pleasure investments”, aside from, say, buying a house, would be to buy 1 (or 2, 3, more) kick-ass and drop-dead gorgeous supercar to roll down the block like never before and to put your money into something hard-and-true. It’s a well-known fact that when the majors in the luxury cars market introduce their top-notch “royal” models they always have the celebrities in their minds and they try to appeal to them in every possible way. So, if you’re an NBA star or a hot up-and-coming rap artist then I’m sure you’ve got a couple of Bentleys, Lambos, and Ferraris parked in your fancy garage. That’s just how it is, I guess.
Rich Is Not Enough Anymore – Gotta Be Creative
And while you might never be able to afford anything but a routine Prius or Sienna (just like me), it’s always good sport to check out the cars owned by TV, music & sport stars and see what the celebs of this world spend their ridiculous money on. After all, that can be quite entertaining :). The thing with celebrities nowadays is they actually know a thing or two about cars and they usually try to make their cars special, because, let’s face it: there are enough rich folks in America to drive those Continentals and Aventados, and so, in order to stand out, you gotta use your head and go with all kinds of crazy customization and tuning procedures. 50K on some dope aftermarket wheels? No problem! A unique paint job from the hand of a world-esteemed master? Done! Custom interior design with kick-ass seats? Check! If you wanna ride like a king, you’ll have to spend like a king, that’s the #1 rule here. So, today we’ll talk about the cars owned by TV, music & sport stars, but not the routine stuff – only the most ridiculous and bad-ass cars to ever screech that good-old American asphalt.
Cars Owned By TV, Music & Sport Stars – Eric Clapton’s Fancy Ferrari
It would only be right to kick off the list of the best celebrity-owned luxury cars with some classic rock from the ’60s. You feel that vibe? No? Well, it’s there! Mr. Eric Clapton is as classy as they come, and he’s got a super-fancy Ferrari to die for. A couple of years ago the master behind “Layla” and other worldwide hits found a place for royalty in his heart and decided to make it count. So, what you’re looking at on the picture is a 5 million dollars-worth retro-styled Ferrari 512 BB with unbelievable attention to details and a super-comfortable interior that you can practically live in. Wait, that’s not the best part: they say Clapton had THREE 512 BBs back in the day, and his dream-car was a combination of that vintage warmth, if you will, with all the latest technological features and equipment found in a modern-day Ferrari. This particular car was created from the ground up by Pininfarina – the best at creative Ferrari designs. Now imagine what a blast this would be if they could fit a V12 in it…
James Hetfield’s Iron Fist Ford – Metallica Meets Metal
When you’re the front-man of one of the greatest bands in the world (EVER!), you just gotta go with something badass. Mr. James Hetfield, the icon in rock metal, is all about that heavy stuff. Take a look at the dark, scary and sexy greyish hot-rod – ain’t it a thing of absolute beauty? The Iron Fist is one hell of a unique ride, and, as far as being classy goes, this is the #1 king among the cars owned by TV, music & sport stars. The Metallica head honcho had to recruit the best of the best for this one, so, Blue Collar Customs, Sacramento’s finest, approached this task with just the right set of mind, tools, and, of course, talent. They actually did the impossible when they managed to fit Ford’s tucked air-conditioning system with an Oxblood interior that just makes you want to be the next greatest rock star only to be able to drive in it. And the raw, exposed and in-your-face metal on the exterior just adds to the overall awesome picture, making this hot-rod a living legend among customized cars for the stars. If you’re a fan of Metallica I’m sure you’ll fall in love with this car just as much.
Cars Owned By TV, Music & Sport Stars – Will.i.Am’s Tracy Mobile
Mr. Black Eyed Peas himself, ladies and gentlemen – please give a warm welcome! This man is an extraordinary person in the best way: he’s got hits climbing the charts like it’s just a jog up his stairways and he’s producing hit records for the best in the business. And when he’s not busy in the studio laying vocals or mixing the next banger he loves to drive all kinds of amazing cars. You’ve got an aluminum interior (that’s right, the cabin, not the exterior), astonishing body styling that looks like the comic fan’s dream, and that sleek metallic blue paint to top it all off. I imagine when William rolls down the block with the beauty all eyes are on him. They say it took half a decade to make this piece of art, mainly because the owner wanted everything to be perfect and just the way that he saw it. Well, 5 years is good enough is you get something as amazing as the Tracy mobile. If futurism is what you’re looking for in cars owned by TV, music & sport stars, then this one is right up your alley. By the way, if you believe Jalopnik, this baby was based on a ’58 Volkswagen Beetle! This vehicle stands on its place in our Cars Owned By TV, Music & Sport Stars list!
Jerry Seinfeld’s 1959 Porsche 718 RSK – A 100% Classic
Legendary comedian and sucker for cars, Mr. Jerry Seinfeld has been a fan of the German brand Porsche ever since his first 911 Carrera back in the ’80s. And for about 4 decades now he’s been collecting Porsches on an industrial scale, so even Top Gear’s Rich Hammond can’t really compete with the man. And probably the most eye-catching and unique of all the amazing models in his collection is the 718 RSK with an open cabin. They made quite a few of these babies, so, as you could imagine, it’s pretty expensive. And you can’t really drive it when it’s raining (or, say, snowing), because you’ve got no roof over your head! Funny, huh? So, speaking of the price, I gotta say that as the Porsche 718 RSK is now officially a historically valuable vehicle it’s automatically also a super-expensive one. The auctions generally sell these for 3.3 MILLION a unit, but, given the fact that Jerry Seinfeld is one of the best at what he does and who reportedly has about 800 million dollars (not in his pockets, but still), I believe he paid in cash without even second-guessing his decision. So, as far as the most expensive cars owned by TV, music & sport stars go, this one is the second best.
Ken Block’s F-150 RaptorTrax – The Monster, The Beast And The King
Alright, so, as usual, I decided to save the pie for the desert, if you know what I mean. I’m topping the list of the best of the best with a super-extreme and dope ride that every true American would love to hop in some day. It’s actually a pretty great work of art, so, what you see on the pics is a 100% real-world living-breathing car, not a concept or a Photoshop wonder. Yep, you guessed it – I’m talking about Mr. Ken Block’s superb F-150 Raptor Trax that’s all kinds of awesome and sick. Block has a unique talent for going extreme and doing it with a smile on his face, and this vehicle right here is just another step in his crazy life. Everything he touches turns into a legendary thing, be it a 4-wheel steel monster or a race-track event.
The Best One To Date
The mammoth-of-a-truck, the customized F-150 used to be a champ of the off-road activities, but now it’s a mountain-climbing…snow-mobile that can crush anything on its way. So, yeah, the truck was already pretty customized and tuned, but Blocks’ team invested into a dozen more upgrades and updates. You’ve got: Recaro seats, a supercharger, a snowboard track, a full-on roll cage, a winch that’s mounted on the back and a roof basket. All of that effort was put in with one goal in mind: to make the F-150 RaptorTrax a king of the snow mountains and one hell of an advertisement for Ford’s F-150 series, if we’re being honest. Alright, these were the dopest cars owned by TV, music & sport stars. Make sure to check back with me to catch all the latest posts, reviews and tips/tricks and keep your eye on the industry. Drive safe, keep your head up and imagine yourself behind the wheel of an awesome car like Ken’s F-150 or Seinfeld’s Porsche. They say dreams materialize, you know? So, let’s close our list of Cars Owned By TV, Music & Sport Stars.
